Yeah, my 97 is a 2wd so I'd only be doing the rear and I was opting for some kind of lunchbox in the rear to keep it somewhat versatile out in the wild, soon it's main priority will be DD/towing my other XJ to and from wheeling!

Plans for the my red 4door you ask? Full doorless/choptop for the summer with a rear rollbar/tire carrier to tie it all together!

So, are you going to be able to slap the top/doors back on for colder weather or just suck it up and stay out in the elements all the time? I'm asking, because now that I have the daily driver I want to do something similar. I already go doorless in the front. I plan on ripping the rear doors off as well. Then comes the cage... and with that the top most likely will not be able to hide from the sawzal

Well the front are already removable so I'll mimic the mod for the rear doors to be able to put em back on. As for the rear, I was thinking about making it removable but I'm thinking I might just leave it off maybe fab up some kind of soft top.

Be expecting the build Summer 2011!

Can't wait to start the DD build and the doorless chop top build!

NICE! Make sure you either post it up in here or pm me when you start your threads. I don't get on and just surf through the forum that much anymore. I just check out ones that I'm already subscribed to.

I'd really like to do something similar, so I'm really anxious for you to get started as well.

Thanks for the comment. Yours looks great too. How do you like the BFG KM2s? Are they loud at all?

Sweet XJ man, love the Moabs.

I'm from the Mansfield/Foxboro area right near where the Pats play. I go to the cape often in the summer, around the Mashpee/New Seabury area (on the opposite side compare to you) Any good wheeling areas in the Cape? Aren't there a couple of beaches you can go out on?

Anyhow, keep up the good work!

Yeah there are a few wheeling spots to check out. Specifically in Mashpee actually. Probably about 5 minutes from New Seabury. I actually used to be a mechanic at New Seabury. I'll be getting an ORV sticker for Sandy Neck beach this summer so that's where you'll see me most of the time. Hopefully with the ladies haha

Took her out wheelin a few nights ago and almost got stuck in this spot. Sure did flex out the suspension! It was a steep sandy drop off that collapsed as I drove over it. Took a little work but I got her out.

Well I got in a minor accident in last week. I was driving down the road at 30 MPH and a guy went to pull out of a parallel parking spot in the right side of the road. He didn't check to see if any cars were coming, so he conveniently pulled right out into me. His front left fender went right into my back right wheel . He was driving a 2007 or so Chevy Malibu. The only damage I suffered was to my wheel. It's scuffed and the edge of the rim is cracked. It's going to have to be replaced. His car didn't fare so well. The XJ basically ran his front driver corner over. His fender, headlight and bumper were all fubar. Oh well, I'm getting a new wheel.

In other news, I need a new front driveshaft. Where's the best place to get one? I've been looking around and it seems most places want $300+. That seems crazy to me.
