1987 Cherokee for 1400 yes or no

Need advice on a 1987 Cherokee found it for $1400 with auto trans and 6cylinder new rims and tires a cheap 2in lift and about 170000 miles. Not really looking to use this for anything but a daily driver while i build my trail rig. just need to know what you think of 87 cherokees and any common problems with this year.

For me it would be a big no.... You can get a much newer model with the HO engine for what they are wanting for that one.
I bought my dad a 99 model 4wd completely stock 190k on it with a cracked front windshield for $1400... runs and drives perfect.
I looked at many more in the $1500-1900 range and newer than 1997.
Currently own 93 XJ 33's on 4" lift....01 XJ stock,will replace my 93 after mods are done..... 1994 ZJ V8, BB w/31's........99 XJ stock....97 XJ 2wd 5 spd stock.... and just p/u a 98 XJ 4wd/5 spd and a 01 XJ

X2 on what the guys above me said. Check craigslist for some deals as well. Don't jump on the first thing you see. You did the right thing by doing research before you buy.

Personally, I'd keep shopping but you never know what's gonna pop up... and when.

Good luck with the quest...

i'd pay $700 for a clean '87 thats in good running order....rust would be my major issue....in western NY you wont find an '87 that isn't a rot box

for $1500 you could find a much newer one depending on where you are
