I went this time..

4 quarts of Pennzoil 10w30 High Mileage because it was the only oil I could find in AAP with Zinc whatchamacolic still in it. 32 bucks

1 32oz Lucus Oil Stablizer on sale 11 bucks I think

1 K&N filters - 14.95

Jeep loves it. Also once every few changes I buy that cheap 21 buck oil change kit with a paper filter and cheap *** oil and I do a change, run it for a 20 minutes or so and then drain and do the real oil change.

For anyone who *****es about the waste of oil.. don't worry I use it for cooking after =)

I use 6 all the time and it's spot on. Been doing that since 87 when the 4.0 came out while working at the dealership.

Since he's concerned about the bigger filter, he may need a tad more.

I use about 6 qts as well, but if for whatever reason 5 qts gets you to full (after running the engine to fill the filter), then whatever. Don't overfill.

50 Psi at speed 30psi at idle with 10w30 and Napa Gold 1515 filter. Picked up 5-10 psi at idle and 10 psi at speed. Wow... That is progress! Poor neglected XJ I'm sorry for running a crappy filter before.

The XJ will forgive you. How much oil did you put in?
