Is your TJ your daily driver?

Not exactly a technical question, but I'm curious to know how many of you out there use your TJ for your daily driver/commute vehicle?

What are the pros/cons (other than poor gas mileage)?

I was thinking about selling my paid for '02 Mustang GT and drive my TJ daily. I'd like to hear the opinions of fellow forum members. Thanks

I drive mine as a DD, and the gas milage does suck but i enjoy my commutes. I would not sell a paid for car if i didn't have to especially with having a jeep,

I like having 4x in a daily driver for the couple times you need it in the winter, you can also drive them places it town you wouldn't take the car. Mind you I've recently aquired a company truck and now the jeep is a designated 'toy'. A mustang wouldn't be a bad summer ride, probably get better gas mileage and more comfortable on the highway though.

I drive mine as a DD, but i don't drive much. I get 19-20 miles per gallon, so it isnt too bad. Running 3.07's and 34" LTB's. It would be fine to be a daily driver

I love my TJ for a daily driver.
Pros:
-I love putting the top down when its warm out
-Gets me up above traffic, unlike a sedan
-I like driving my manual trans, my alternative is automatic

cons:
-poor gas mileage
-constant worry of people getting into my stuff while its parked

ps you should make this a poll

Yup - best durned DD I ever had too!
Bought my 2000 TJ in 2003 with 63K miles on it. Drove it weekly between VA Beach, VA to Jax, FLA and now it has 170K miles on it. Still awesome, still dependable, still the best ride you could imagine. Takes lots of TLC to keep it that way but maintenance costs are still cheaper than a car payment.

I use mine as a DD. The only draw backs are fuel milage, the worry of carnage on the trail and its difficult to do some mods as cant afford the down time since its needed for daily driving.

I drive mine every day, but I only have a 6 mile drive to work. On the weekends I put on an average of 150 - 250 miles though. 4.56's with 35's give me a tad over 19 MPG on the highway... Not too shabby.

Yes mine is my dd.
My last dd was a 94 ranger (2wd). I would never go back to that or any others i can remember having. I drive about 30 miles round trip for work. Right now my jeep is all stock. I have been getting about 20 mpg. I feel thats a good trade for having the four wheel drive when i want it. Plus i just plain love driving it.

daily driver... love the top down in the summer. A gt mustang would be nice too... although selling a paid for car, think of all the goodies you could pay for on that jeep
