Wowww..

SO this weekend I was hanging out with some friends.. and my buddy got a little too drunk so I drove him home and my g/f followed so I could get home. On the way to his house we got to talking about my JEEP. He tells me he has a brand new 8000lb Warn winch in his basement, never been out of the box he bought for the Wrangler he USED to have. He has an XJ now. Told me he'd sell it to me cheap since its collecting dust in his basement. So I called him the next day (when he was sober) and he sold it to me for $200!!!! I just gotta get a new bumper and get that bad boy on now.!!

I'll give you $225. You could turn a quick $25 profit!!! Let's get together and drink a case of beer to talk about it.

You suck! No, but great score there. I wish I could get any 8000lbs winch for that price. A Warn? Thats sweet man.

Yep.. its a Warn. Its sitting in my back seat as we speak. When I pulled it out of the box its eyes were squinting b/c it had never seen the light of day since the factory. HAHA Im psyched about getting it on!!. It has the remote plug in on the front of the solenoid. Is there a way to wire the remote inside the Jeep rather than wrap it around the front end over the hood into the window? I don't mind getting out to plug it up but would rather the controls be inside on the panel.

Never installed one. But could you run it through the grill and then route it through the firewall?

That is what I was kinda thinking. It has a 12 foot remote control. So if there is a way to do it .. it would be awesome.. if anyone has any ideas.

You could go through the bottom of the grill then to the brake line location, zip tie it to that, then to the firewall. There is enough locations on the firewall the pass through to the cab so finding one should be easy enough. Then just ziptie it too some other sturdy wires and your done. You could get creative and fab up a holder for the switch. Just connect it to the lower part of the dash. Shouldnt be to hard, but I have been wrong before. Im sure some other members will chime in and really help. Not ever setting one up limits my ideas drastically. Hope some of it helped though.
