Who cares what other people think. What do you think? It's your JEEP. Some people have bad A JEEPS painted brown, I think that looks like crap. Do you think they are going to repaint it?

My point exactly, to me, looks like a turd rolling down the road. Paint it black, looks cool as hell. I bet he's not going to repaint so I think it looks better.

Cool Jeep by the way, except the color.

Meh, I'm rocking 29.5's on about 4" of lift at the moment for winter.

It's fine it might look a little goofy but who cares. I did the same thing a few years back with my YJ I put 4 inches on it with 29's I was in high school at the time and was working my *** off for the parts.

I had ordered a white ’02 TJ with the smallest tires available (29 or smaller if possible) because I had plans to build it up. I ended up trading it in for a TJ Rubi before the build started. When I brought it into the dealership the GM said it looked like a mail truck with the white paint and those “goofy tires”. The jeep was still stock; no lift.

I've had 30" tires on stock hieght, stock with flares trimmed, 2.5" lift and 2.5" lift with cut front fenders and no rear flares.

Why? Because its what I could afford and it wheeled hard as it was.

It's your money and if it works for you then go for it.

Much, much better traction in snow and ice than any 35" tire I've ever used.
The price was also right, $300 mounted and balanced for a brand new set of studded snows.

I'll take a little extra RPM if it means surviving winter.
The lift is because the vehicle was set up to run 35's but they were way too bald for winter driving.

It'll be fine. If nothing else it'll motivate you to work harder to get the cash for the larger tires so you can fill in the fender wells.

2" of lift and 31" tires is a good combo.

OP, I say go for it, but in answer to your question, yes it will look goofy. I ran 31s on a 2.5 in lift. That looked great until I did custom flat fenders with 6in flares. My jeep looked pretty goofy especially since they were 31x10.5s and the flare stuck out far past the tires. Now i am on 35x12.5s and my jeep looks much better! I will post some pics later today if I can find any.
