That s the problem with jeeps. It takes a ton to get them to the sweet stage, and you go to sell it, you loss. I ve got a buddy that put every bit of 40k in his Wrangler, and got like 20k out of it. 15k too much, I agree more like 8000

coming from a guy who has owned 2 v8 wrangler yjs,
5-8k

but take someone who knows what they are looking at. for 5-8k the wiring shouldnt be a complete mess, steering should be correct, and shouldnt have any major issues.

That's what happens when you put 12000 into a 2000 dollar rig you think it's worth 15000, but in reality it's worth 5-6 tops. There is a guy around here who has been selling a sweet little solid axle Yota truck forever for like 9 grand, built real nice new turbo motor marlin crawler case, 5.88's locked up winch dual batteries nicely built All-pro suspension on coilovers...but really it's an 84 regular cab truck so he would be lucky to get 5-6 for it. But since he dumped all of 10000 into it that's what it's worth to him, now if the right guy showed up he might get it but it's been up for sale for months.....

An ugly Jeep with some stuff.

There's a couple on CL built better for around 8-10K ones a Rubi to with a 383 ci sitting on 37''s for 9K OBO... I'd say take you time and look around for a Jeep you can build up BC you might be getting youself into a mess..
