That's some messed up stuff. I will always wear my seat belt while in the Jeep and work truck, it's hit or miss while in my pick up. I've been in accidents were if I had a seat belt on I would have been worse off than I was. Last one I had was over 10 yrs ago, had a bad bruised bone in the hip/pelvis area. If I had the belt on then I could have broken said hip along with internal injuries with bleeding. They say could have because they saw a "truck club" that was sitting between driver seat and frame that was bent in by about 1.5" to 2" from the impact of a traffic light. Will this change my thinking, don't know for sure, but it will be on my mind.

This thread is intense. I'm just curious.

What do you all think of the AtoZ Sport Cages Add-In's?

Do you think they'd hold up well? Or is there a better one out there?

Here's a link. I'm talking about the add in Sport Cage Additions, not the Replacement Cages.

My 18 yo ran a 93 Camry off the road at about 40 mph and drove over 2 driveway culverts. Deployed airbag and warped frame. Totaled the car and he ended up with 1 cracked disc in his back. Without the seatbelt and airbag he could have suffered much worse from the impact forces. Been wearing my belt since I was 12 and we got our first car with belts. My children grew up that way. Any passenger that does not want to wear a belt in my Jeep/cars is saying they don't mind being human debris flying around my vehicle. Personally I don't want to take that chance, so they belt it or walk.

Oh yeah, can't imagine not wearing a seatbelt.

That looks like a great design. The key is to replace the windshield bars with DOM tubing, which the AtoZ does. Research the difference between the firewall dash mount vs a through the dash version. Here's my Poison Spyder Cage: http://www.jeepforum.com/forum/showp...&postcount=274

So does anyone have aftermath photos with a aftermarket cage that replaces the windhshield spreaders? I would like to see how they hold up, and if they are at all worth the money in a crash like these...

Try taking it apart and giving it a good cleaning, you could save yourself some serious $$.

this one has an aftermarket cage of some sort - looks like a Poison Spyder Customs. Not sure about the windshield bars.

Passenger compartment is still intact, and the firewall mount is still holding fine. You need to expect deformation with this much force in a big crash.
