When I first got my tj, I got it up to 90mph, then the limiter kicked in. On every other vehicle I've owned, I had the limiter removed, however in my Jeep, I thought removing the limiter would make as much sense as giving a nun a boob job. Sure, they might be nice to look at, but completely useless.

Occasionally, 80, but honestly, with the top and doors off, it's just too loud and too windy.

I can't believe a cop could even think you were doing 100mph in a Jeep with 33's and a 4" lift. Whatever option of the multitudes of advice already given to beat this you take, I hope you do and keep us posted.

Why shouldn't a cop think a Jeep was going 100 MPH?

The OP's Jeep... Obvious reasons. Or, could be more likely than not the cop never tried to drive a TJ with a 4 inch lift at 100mph before.

What if the cop didn't know squat about JEEPs? If the OP had a 5.7 hemi it would do 100 easy. But, how would a cop know any of this info.

But even with a 5.7 hemi a TJ with a 4 inch lift would be freakin' scary at 100mph!

I guess so. With what I have on a SWB TJ, I don't usually exceed 70mph. After that it's a bit scary if I had to make a sudden maneuver.

My jeeps speedometer never goes above 65, that is actually 75 though according to my GPS. I always cruise at 75, it's not scary at all.

The question is... could the OP, assuming he is sane, be doing 100mph?

I personally wanna know how this works out in court.

Absolutely could do 100 MPH.

I'm surprised people are questioning if this is possible.

If I was geared right, my LJ could do 100mph. I top out at 75mph with my 42rle/4.56/33 combo. Fuel mileage gets measured in gallons per mile that fast. I've done 90mph in my old TJ. Bumps made me nervous.
