Don't knock the 4 bangers, thats what jeep started with, a 60 hp flathead 4 banger. With 5:13 gears those things will climb tree's if they can reach the first branch. Power is nice, but off road, gears are the bomb. The JK has the too promblem: it's too big, too ugly and too chrysler ha ha. I've wheeled a lot of stock jeeps, cj's, yj's, tj's and willys. Stock jeeps do an awesome job off road unless your bouler bashing or some extreme stuff. So for you guy's that don't have a lot of money to throw at your jeep, don't sweat it, just hit the trails and have fun. Thats what jeeping is really all about, not how many mods you can aford. The jk owners don't even need a lot of mods, they can just ugly the terain into submission ha ha!!!!!!!!!!!
