I have to say since JKs have come out I haven't had many waves...but this past weekend with the weather being perfect in CT and everyone cruising around I got more waves from JKs than I did from TJ/YJ owners and I saw roughly the same amount of both. There was 2-3 soccer mom looking women and one guy in a suit who looked at me with completely baffled amazement at my wave tho. I sort of was expecting them to return the wave with the finger.

I guess it also depends on what part of the country you may be from too. In NC I get waves from everyone, even crusty old CJ's (kinda mad my grampa sold his 50's era CJ-5)! Soccer mom's around here drive Honda minivans and Lexus SUV's.

Its more like why does no one wave, ive gotten maybe 3 waves in a year and a half, kinda sad, i barely wave anymore.

Agreed. BUT, a better question is why don't the Cherokees wave to the other Cherokees? Course here it is a "If it's built, it waves" case by case scenario. Maybe some cherokee drivers need to be "educated" as well?

Hah, I've heard rumors that there are jacking points on the unibody, so it's like a semi-full frame right? Yep, I wave to XJ's too, but I think it is because I used to own one and no Wrangler folks waved at me back.

Personally,

All wranglers get a wave.

Other lifted/built Jeeps get a wave.

There is a respectable looking Liberty around here that I don't have a problem with waving to. I also waved to this guy because he had a cool jolly roger. (However, I was in my explorer.)

In Costa Rica the jeeps owners pretty much all of us wave no matter what

Also the Suzuki Samurai owners wave and we have a lot of them we also wave to them.

Here in Dubai it doesn't seem that Jeep owners wave that much no matter what Jeep they have. Ok, I've only had a Jeep for a few days but so far no waves even though I've waved a few times. Guess I figure that if I start waving perhaps it'll catch on

I haven't had even one JK wave in VA or NC. Other Wranglers its about a 50/50 thing. Always get waves from built XJ's and Zj's, but never stock Cherokees. I wave at almost all Jeeps, just don't get many back.
