Why don't JK owners wave?

In my area JK owners never wave, all of the TJs, CJs and YJs wave at each other, but not the JKs if you wave they usually give you a weird look. Although today I did have one guy in a JK wave, I didn't know what to do, it was so foreign to me, I have pretty much given up on waving to JKs.

I don't wave at JK's because it seems most of the owners in my area are buying them because they are the new "4 door car or SUV" and they have no clue. Due to all the creature comforts they now have, not that they are all bad options, it's more car like and alot of the soccer moms are buying them. I've only seen 2 or 3 lifted JK's around here and only 1 is actually being used as a Jeep should. I DO wave at him!

I have to agree. Actually, only HALF the jeep owners here wave back... I feel like an idiot, but I'm a nice idiot.
I Wave at all the jeeps I see...
We got a buncha JK's, Some TJ's 3-4 YJ's, and there's a couple of CJ's.. and I always Hold up a 1 to the CJ's. Because... There is ONLY one.

I'm pretty sure most of them think.. "What the hell is is doing? "

I need to move where some of you guys are... all the guys around here are boring.. they do nothing most are mall crawlers... the rest go mudding... and thats it..

I need some fun...

Can we please give this a rest ??

Some people could care less about a wave and I would guess to some its just transportation not a life style......

Not everybody waves at me when I'm on my sportbike, not everybody waves at my brother when he's on his Harley........see where were going with this ??

No way can we forget the wave. We must educate the newer Jeep owners and allow them to see what it is to be part of the "Jeep family." If they couldn't careless, then we need to educate them on the rule, which is: "If you can't or won't wave, sell the Jeep!!"

The jeep wave was started in a bye gone era when jeeps were jeeps and men were men. Things have changed, jeeps are more mainstream, everyone from soccer moms to office workers buy them. "God forbid", they even make a 2wd JK. A lot of jeeps never leave the pavement now a days, much less wave. When jeeps didn't have power windows and such triffles, the jeep buyer was a more rugged out doorsey type, that knew what it mint to own a jeep. But alas, hahhh, times have changed. So it's up to you young skywalker, keep the traditions alive.
I can't believe it, I made a whole post without bashing the JK, "SORTA"!!!!

That about sums it up for me. Or my wife informs me that the girl driving the new JK I just waived at probably thinks I'm creepy. WTF? wave = creep?

oh gee... the usual stereotype- JK owners don't wave.

Here where I'm at, there are far more TJ's and YJ's. And whoa! Guess what- I rarely get any wave from these TJ's and YJ's. And you can tell that none of these ever wheel their Jeeps. I have come to the conclusion that the wave is NOT a Jeep thing- it is a WHEELER thing. I get waves from built Cherokees, built pickup, built broncos- anything that I can tell is a wheeler, I get a wave from.

So here is my take on the TJ's and YJ's.

TJ's are primarily owned by working class men that just need a dependable vehicle OR business men that want to look rugged by driving a Jeep

YJ's are primarily owned by high school & college age kids.
