Wheel Spacers

What is the purpose of Wheel Spacers? Does it actually push the wheel away from the axle?

Wheel spacers do a couple of things.
Move the wheel/tire further out for additional clearance for wider tires.
Adapt a wheel to a different hub. For example, if you have JK wheels and you want to mount them on a TJ.

Keep in mind that free advice can frequently be worth less than you pay for it.
