What the heck is the noise?

Ok, little background here I have owned the following Jeep brand vehicles and all have had this light knocking noise during acceleration. The dealer seems to have no answers for me?

I did do a "knocking noise" search but none covered my question completely

1987 Wrangler
2000 Jeep Cherokee
2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee limited
2008 Jeep Liberty
2011 Jeep Wrangler (current)

I don't know if it is bad gas but if that is the case I will try some higher octane next time. most of the time it happens when I am going up the hill when the motor is straining a little bit

Not bad gas always just real **** gas. Use a octane booster in the tank and put some higher gas in next time. If that don't fix it your timing is off.

DO IT ALL, AND THAN SOME!

Garage
When you could set timing before computers we use to advance the timing 2 degrees to get rid of the ping. But a lot of time it is an octane knock as mentioned from this crappy corn fed fuel.
