Eyewitness reports state the man told a bystander to "hold my beer" before attempting the descent. ;)

Excellent question; I highly doubt it or there never would have been an accident.;)

He just left the jeep show at the winery....lets mix drinking and jeeps, good job

The article forgets to mention the fact he was a cop and the cooler of beer and wine found in the debris field of the wreck, I know because I was at the scene the next day....I guess it's fine to drink and drive if your a cop

Yeah the article "forgot" to mention that ..... what kinda cop ? not a real cop I hope :nono:

He was a cop in Passaic somewhere, the ski slope PIPELINE is a double black diamond and the section that he rolled down was every bit of a double black diamond covered in loose rocks, it has never and can't be traversed in any vehicle, even a tank of a groomer needs a winch and a front blade full of snow to get down it....the guy is an idiot

Thanks for the photo .....thank God he and the family are still alive !

He obviously had a lapse of good judgement ! He made a mistake for sure, I've made my share of mistakes in my life, thankfully God was at my side and didn't let or make me suffer consequences like that !

Apparently he is a Detective with the Passaic County Prosecutor's Office, and they are apparently not cutting him any slack because he works in Law Enforcement as they considering criminal charges with regards to the trespassing.

I don't know him, even though he is from Jersey, but I wish him well. In addition to making a mistake in judgement that day ( ok he did something really dumb) he also served in the U.S. Marines for nine years and was part of the light-armored reconnaissance battalion that rescued Jessica Lynch, a U.S. Army soldier, on April 1, 2003, shortly after the U.S. invasion of Iraq.

He suffered a gunshot wound during the war and was the recipient of the Purple Heart.

For that I say ....thank you for you service to our country, prayers for a speedy recovery and hopefully he can put this behind him and move on with his life.
