What do you like most about having a Jeep?
I finally got another TJ after being without for 4 years. Pretty danged happy right now. And it got me to thinking, what is it about a Jeep that has had me wishing for another ever since the old one got crushed by the idiot on the highway. For me it's the being able to remove the top doors and windows and just enjoy the ride. I also forgot about how many people talk to you at gas stations, grocery store parking lots, etc. Its an approachable vehicle and you see the look in their eyes of how they long for the freedom and sense of adventure a Jeep gives you. I've had about a thousand questions of things I need to get figured out on this Jeep, and searching the forum has answered just about everything. Thank you to all those that post you ideas, pitfalls, and tidbits.
So what do you like most about having a Jeep?

Well I went 6 years Jeepless after my first jeep. it sucked.
What I like is that TJ/LJs were the last minimalist truck ever made. JKs now have car-like dashes and more electronics.
So its the only vehicle that I've ever had that doesnt make me want something newer, instead I just want to spend money to make it better that factory...My wife says: "You're always trying to out-jeep jeep... take a break"

The ability to drop it into 4 Lo and crawl over just about anything. Taking the top off and cruising around on a summer night.

The ability to take the top and doors off. Plus having a vehicle that is able to take on most places I would want to go. I also like that my LJ is capable of pulling my ATV trailer. I do wish it got better gas mileage.

Because I wanted a 4x4 convertible. I used to ride motorcycles, but with the Jeep, I don't have to dress up (as much), I can carry three other people and I can take a right turn just about anywhere......

No top....No doors. Everything else is a bonus!

Just about everything. The way the hood looks when behind the wheel. The conversations you have with people. I was talking with a hobo about jeeps last weekend. The places you can go. Going top down and doorless.

1) No apologies functional simplicity.
2) removable top and doors
3) absence of fluff and style features.
4) Solid drive train with ground clearance to go anywhere, without the bulk of an offroad truck
5) and the intangible which is purely subjective to the individual person: the feeling that the Jeep is me

As Jeep people we are just different. I prefer being outside to inside. Top down, Doors off when I can. My jeep is condusive to that lifestyle. Alot like riding a motorcycle. I freeze in the winter and sweat in the summer. Most people think that I'm crazy but I prefer the sense of being free to comfort.

It's the only convertible that can tow a 16' travel trailer.

Well among other things already said, I get a kick out of the dudes that say that their double cab / turbo diesel w/ power chip / on 42's can go anywhere my little Jeep can. I just keep it simple and say "ok follow me".

Open air ride, ability to go most anywhere and a back to basics approach is what makes my TJ stand out to me!
