Refer to the "Real Jeeps" thread on this forum. Nobody can say exactly what a real Jeep is. Just a bunch of blathering and *****ing.

To further reiterate your reply, Leaf Springs and a AMC engine.

A real Jeep says Jeep on it. Unless it's a really really old Jeep.

real jeeps did not have a amc as well. my last 66(Kaiser) had a buickv6, the one before that had the flat head 4 in the 47.

I put "real" jeep/ers as the ones I meet on runs out on the trail. I see you in a new jeep on any of our moderately hard trails. you are in a real jeep they all crush/dent the same. rocks do not give a f*** what year it is. only the driver.

It was manufactured by Jeep. Anything past that is just bigoted emotional BS.

I understand Jeep bigotry. I had 3 CJ7s and never considered a YJ a Jeep, Still donít, and it wasnít until my daughterís mom forbid me from putting our little one in a CJ that I got a TJ. Figuring any Jeep was better than no Jeep. The TJ was great and my JK is better.

Even though my JK out wheels every other model on the trail I still get the fake Jeep plastic grill thing. And I do get a very petty satisfaction telling a YJ I canít recover them because I have a plastic grill.

You can argue the benefits of the YJís long leaf springs all you want, Iím not going to hear it and even though my JK is far better in absolutely every way I still prefer a CJ.
