I was hoping my new Jeep would get here today, but it's still scheduled for Monday and wasn't picked up from the railyard today. The dealership told me Monday, but said sometimes they'll get on a truck a day or two early. But not this time... I'm trying to be patient, really, I am! (Oh, and they're closed Sunday)
You know that scene in Ferris Bueller where the two car jockeys are flying through the air with the Ferrari?
The top and doors on this vehicle are designed only for protection against the elements. Do not rely on the top and doors to contain occupants within the vehicle or to protect against injury during an accident. Wear seatbelts at all times.
As of 6, the truck hadn't made it to the dealership yet. Plus my wife said she wasn't feeling well enough to go anyway, so I told the manager to let the PDI guy go home, we'd pick it up tomorrow.
Plus, they were having trouble with the deal - the three people I've worked with are now gone. Good thing I had everything in writing. They are honoring everything except they said they can't do 0/48, only 0/36. That's about $1100 over the life of the loan at 2.9/48. Annoying, but I guess it's that or walk away.
Turns out you DON'T get the incentives at the time of order, only at the time of delivery. Not sure how half the dealers I talked to said they could do it, but it's not a Chrysler policy. To this dealer's credit, they're honoring the old ones from the date I ordered ($1000 incentive, $1000 rebate, $500 military) plus the sub-EPP price. The manager - who seems pretty upfront - said they're taking a $48 loss because of the change in rebates. $38 because the paperwork trail I have has a mysterious $10 more to their favor in there somewhere.
So, tomorrow... in theory... I'll have the Jeep finally! As long as the wife is feeling better. She'll be on all the paperwork, so has to be there to sign.
