Waterproof subs...

Anyone know where to get or have a link to some waterproof subs/boxes.. my buddy wants to put two 10"'s or one 12" and leaves the top off half the time..

Check out Polk audio. their subs arent waterproof but their marine certified. all polk speakers are marine certified.

You can use pretty much any subwoofer, just make the box out of birch ply so it won't rot like MDF.

Technically you won't find any "waterproof" speakers. But marine certified ones are great for peace of mind.
I am building a sub box for one 8" Solo Baric that is a sealed bandpass box. Coating it with the same stuff I used to line my tub. You don't get any more water resistant than that.

Way outside my realm on amps or downward firing.... but literally, I've been looking for years for a price break on centrapod plastic-type boxes.

Regardless, I "waterproofed" the my existing speaker cones by spraying w_m_ special waterproof spray.

Speaking of which, I live in DC and I usually have the doors/windows removed. Does anybody have ideas/suggestions on how I could install a subwoofer without having it stolen? I don't live in the greatest neighborhood and I believe a subwoofer would not last a day or two unsupervised.

personally, i can't hear my own radio...when it works...cause my jeep is loud. i never keep anything of any value in my jeep, cause it is not the most anti-theft able vehicle
