Value of 04 rubicon

Looking at a 2004 rubicon, it has 3.5" RE super flex lift on it ,tires 305 70r16 tires pretty much brand new, stock wheels, rock hard rear bumper, warn front bumper,102,000 miles, aftermarket radio, banks exhaust,CAI,rear corner guards,no rust pretty clean frame and body. They are asking 16,450$
Thinking of trading in our 2001 sahara on it,that is stock and has 104000 miles. Does anybody have any opinions on price? Its at mtzionoffroad.com

The asking price is high.

Here is what they are selling for at Manheim auctions:

They run from $15,000 - $17000 where I live at car dealers.I found an 05' Rubi LJ for under $12000 from a private party.I passed on it.

Around 16k is the usual dealer price around here also. If your able to travel a bit to get one go on a site like autotrader and see what's available. I had to make a 100 mile trip to buy mine private party out of state.

Your best bet is to stay away from a dealer lot. At $16k they know it's priced over book value. I was trying to negotiate an 03 on a dealer lot and told them I refused to even discuss a price over market value, to which they flat told me, that's fine there is someone that will pay the full price for it just because it says rubicon.

I ended up paying 11,500 for mine after looking for 8 months.

If your Sahara is paid off, I recommend regearing, putting a locker in the rear end (if you have Dana 44) and slapping a ProRock 44 up front. You'd save alot a coin and have something better than a Rubicon.

In january this year, for a factory Rubicon, with 35,000 miles on it, they where asking $19,000, I talked em down to $16,000, I wanted em to go to $15,500. This was a Chevrolet dealership near Jackson Tennessee. I paid a little to much but...

I totally agree with you here. This is what I was faced with, I knew about what a Rubicon is worth and so did the dealership I was dealing with. That's why they wouldn't come down to $15,500 like I wanted them to, they knew what they had and I knew what they had.

2004-2006 Unlimited any thing is worth gold right now. Also, Mount Zion Offroad is hard to negotiated with. They know Jeeps and can afford to keep inventory around longer until the right buyer comes along because their core business is off road parts sales and installation.

For comparison I just drove 6 hours each way from Abq to Denver to pick up a 2005 Rubicon with 68000 miles for 15,000. It is stock and clean and has been mostly a pavement queen which is what I was looking for. I have been looking for the last couple months around AZ, NM, CO, and TX and am happy with the deal. Now to start with the build...

04 rubicon

I just grabbed up a 04 rubicon with hard and soft top with 116000 miles for $11,000. It drives beautifully and was a city dweller from original owner. It is stock and very clean.
