They will more than likely buy more fords and GM's, jeep is sorta limited on the models they offer since they only have suv's.

doubtful, look at the toyota line and compare to the jeep line. if someone is looking for a corrola(SP) then what jeep would be closet, tundra, camry, prius. possible more FJ crowd will look at wranglers but to be honest that is doubtful also

I know my mom has been considering trading in her craptastic Corolla for a Patriot. But the two companies have totally different line ups, so I doubt it.

The company bought some Toyo Tundras (sp) they were all a POS with a capital S. Just junk, broken springs all the time and hauling nothing more than a lunck box. Electrics systems screwed up too. Wore the tires all funny and rode like a empty dump truck! In the shop all the time. I wouldn't keep a Toyo if they gave me one.

just cuz a company takes responsability for a mistake doesnt mean its going down, i`m sure there is a lot problems with a lot of cars from different brands they just dont say anything. toyota will be arround for a looooong time. what jeep are you going to buy when you need a vehicle that makes 30mpg and runs problem free for years ? now if i`m looking for the coolest most beautiful fun, off road capable truck am I going to buy an ugly fj? hell no !! I buy a JEEP!

I heard on the news the other day that Toyota is losing it's reputation as being the best car company on the planet and Ford and GM sales are starting to go back up, about time people start buying American!

Don't go thinking Toyota was being the hero and admitting their mistake. They were forced to. They were attempting to sweep the whole thing under the rug until a contingent from the US government went to Japan to meet with the Toyota brass.

isnt that the way it always goes no matter the company. the whole ford vs. firestone in the 90s, what about the whole gas tanks exploding with the ford pinto. lets face it, these companies are profit driven and will do what it takes to stay that way

yes thats the way, I dont know how bad the toyota thing was or if anybody died from this gas pedal, but remember when ford explorers started rolling over a while ago and some people died from that I dont remember the cause, was it the tires or something , anyways even ford still around and people still buy explorers. I wish american car companies did something that would justify buying american over japanese not just because the other company made a mistake, but change is ion the air and have seen some nice and refreshing stuff coming from detroit. (that was cars, when it comes to heavy duty trucks america rules over the winnie japanese trucks in quality and not just because they are bigger but quiality power, capability, ride and space, I`m a contactor and own two chevy cargo vans 2500 a 2003 and a2004 both over 200k miles both ride like new truck I used to own an f250 psd and there is no jap truck that would come close to it in anything including fuel economy , back then my firen had a tundra well no contest there the ford was nicer rode better had more room inside outside and the 7.3 diesel was more fuel efficient, and if you looked at the undercariage the tundra was a joke, tiny frame and springs )

We had an 07 tundra and it bounced around alot we took it back and they gave us another one it rode like my 97 dodge 1500 real smooth. The motor locked up @10k they tried to say i ran it out of oil even though the pan was full. They fixed it then we had to take it back the same day for a ticking noise. It had a bolt back out of the flywheel. Shop had it another 6 weeks 1 week to find the problem 5 weeks to get 1bolt from factory ad install it. we called the dealer we bought it from and they gave us all our money back we had in it even doc fees and sales tax. We found out 30 tundras made in san antonio had badly cut cams and locked up. They had nothing to say about that. That's when i bought the 97 1500. i've since sold that for my tj and happy as a clam.
