stock susp tj hitting bump stops??

quick question. just curious.
i had a few friends in the jeep the other day and when i would go over speed bumps/ general bumps in the road, i would hit the bump stops. never really experienced this before.
its an 01 wrangler with hardtop. two friends in the back combined weighed just shy of 300 pounds. does this mean my shocks/ springs now are pretty much shot? they are still factory by the looks of it.
thanks

I would definitely say itís time for new shocks. If you can, get a name brand gas shock for your Jeep. I would call Dave at Northridge; he would know what would work for you.

I don't know enough about the different version of Jeeps, but it sounds to me like your springs are shot. if they're leafs, you can get them rebowed...coils are just shot.
You don't by chance have a 40 foot purple gorilla riding on the back of your jeep do you? That would cause it as well...
Sorry, I must be getting old.
