Steering

Ok I got my YJ on the road finally. Looking at the steering problem it looks like the steering gear has play in it. This has manual steering. Am I better off just getting a ramaned gear or should I try adjusting it first. If I adjust it what is the best way to do this. Or would I be better off changing to power steering?
