Review of the q9500i

I'd like to hear your feedback on the Quadratec q9500i winch. I've been searching for any independent review and haven't seen one yet. Has anyone bought and used one yet and if so, what's your thoughts of it?

I looked around and could not find anything. I found one review that was not positive. Only good thing was quadratec replaced it, but never heard back on the replacement was good or not. They have been out long enough now, don't know why there aren't reviews. Only thing I can think is that no one is buying them. Kind of a catch 22. Most folks won't buy without good reviews and reviews won't happen if people don't buy.

Decided I am just going to get an m8000, I will wait and save.

Hello everyone I just recently put this winch on my 94 yj. IT IS A BEAST. It's gotten me out of tons of holes as well as pulled my buddies f250 diesel on a 38s without any problems. The amp draw is real low im currently running a pos discount autoparts battery and my volts never drop below 10 with my headlights on. The thing pulls no doubt about it I would highly recommend it! Here are some pics in case you are interested.

Dcal;
Thanks for the input. it's god to finally hear from someone who's used this winch, besides the Quadratec.

I'll be ordering a winch at the end of this week. I'm torn between this and the smittybilt xrc 8000. I know first hand some guys that run the smittybilt and they have no complaints, but I would like to give this quadratec a shot.

If it was a choice between Smittybilt and the Q-tec winch, I would go with the Q-Tec.

I say this only because my new Smitty XRC8 failed just before it was two years old.
It was very hard to free spool, slow, and asked a lot from my battery.
Only moderate use on trails in the PNW. Probably some of the same trails that you use!

Well you just made my decision a little harder Dave, Thanks

Thing that bothers me as I can cruise some forums and what not and hear and read things about the quadratec but information and reviews are sparse. The only videos on youtube are from that of quadratec (or some affiliated person) and they are nothing fancy. On the flip side I have talked to quite a few guys personally that run the smittybilts and they are happy with them.

I would order the quadratec in a heart beat if I could just get more feedback from people. I like the Idea of pulling twice as fast as a Warn Vr8000, and not taxing the battery nearly as much. It seems to have so many plus's to it.

I love the look of the 9500I in Black, it would go great with my XJ..Maybe I should just bite the bullet and run it so I can give more people information and some youtube videos LOL

I have the Q9000. A little different than the Q9500, but I like it. Only used it a few times but it has always worked great when I needed it too. No complaints so far.

I ordered the Q9500I, it will be here Monday. Now I'm just waiting on the bumper. I'll try to get as many videos as possible of any use with this winch and I'll come back and update this thread. I plan on also installing some parallel controls for use in the cab of my XJ.
