retro JK/ CJ poll, would you buy?

awhile back, I was discussing the retro trend of muscle cars, and the conversation turned to Jeeps. If Jeep were to build a JK with an appearance group giving a nod to the CJ's (say late 70's/early 80's Laredo or Renegade package) would you be interested?

based off something like this

I did a quick and crappy MS paint mock-up..

what do you think, would you be interested? comments? suggestions?

Hoss

I sure do like it. A nod of respect perhaps?

I've also learned that sometimes... when people don't agree with you .... its best to hold them down and kidney punch them till they agree with you

Not if it was just a paint job, what I love about CJs is the front grill look.

I would be tempted, but at the heart it's still a JK.

Hey Ken

Ever wonder if the flathead guys said the same thing about our CJ's?

Unless they did a CJ8 with a v8 or a v8 version, It would be pointless as you can make your own vinyl kit and have a it already.
If they did a kick back, I want to see the whole CJ era look, Feel, Power and sound. But it would turn out like a AEV vehicle with most likely the same price tag. But it would be better than the ideas they are comming up with now.

good point, and maybe a good answer. perhaps just an aftermarket vinyl kit.

do that, take the stock 16" wheels and powdercoat them white and the center cap chrome, add a black pinstripe around them and the grill, and paint the HT white.

heck, maybe Jeep could just leave them white (as an option) from the factory? enough chips, and they start to turn white already?

and bring back white as a soft top option (BESTOP???). I know many of my CJ friends who would LOVE to see that happen

I think it would be pointless unless they made a special stripped down version, like one that didn't even com with doors, ac and such but did have dana 44s. Otherwise it is just another 4 door with a sticker package that is 1000s over comparable models. Jeep accounts would never let it happen tho.
