Although the brand new 08 JK unlimited Rubicaon black beauty was calling my name, and chanting buy me buy me buy me, please take me home! The family had to come first, so the TJ and I will remain friends for a while.
My wifes daily driver an 01 tahoe started to do the slow death rattle, making some bad noises. We are 700 miles from home, visiting mom back in Texas, and the compressor started to lock up. Enough is enough I know that once i replaced the A/C compressor on the tahoe, other gremlins would start rearing their ugly head. next; new tires, then new front end parts, then new transmision, ect, ect. (2 months ago i had to pay $1000.00 for a new dealer installed fuel pump, I was over seas, and it had to be done) So I ran to the local Texas dodge dealer in Gatesville that is being shut down and picked up a 2009 SLT Ram crew cab in inferno red! man she's a good looking truck. I was torn between it and a burnt orange with 20" wheels and the 5.7 hemi. the one I got has the 4.7l flex fuel engine and stock 17" wheels (actually rode smoother). i drove both and the 4.7 didn't feel that much weaker at all (Only 310hp ). Plus I can buy E85 ethanol at $1.50 gallon back home, almost a dollar cheaper per gallon! that would save me 25.00 each fill up!
I'll try to get a picture or two up in a day. My TJ is going to be pretty jealous, I'll just tell it the truck is the wifes!
