Question about installing lift on tj/lj

Hello

My friend is working on installing his lift today. He emailed me the pic below becasue the bolt is spinning inside of the shock and cant get the shock off. THOUGHTS??? Sorry for the HUGE pic.

Several options:
A wrench can be put on the top of the stud to hold it in place.
Cut it off.
Grab the body of the shock and break the stud.

Ok so he doesnt have enough space to get a cutter/saw in and still cant budge the bolt off. Any other suggestions?

Cut the can off the shock so you can cut the shaft where you can get to it. Or get a nut splitter.

We finally got the shock off and the lift is complete. We unhooked the control arms in the front to make more room and man they were a pain to line back up. We tried a ratchet strap, pushing, pulling, evertyhing we could think of and finally got them t line up. Now the axle appears to be tilted forward if that makes sense.
