I'm assuming that there wasn't a registration card or insurance card in the Jeep? If not I think I would have just called the Cops and let them deal with it.

You did a great thing ALTHOUGH with people today he might want to sue you for some unfounded BS he makes up like his Jeep had a heart condition. I'm serious it is sad the state of peoples "All about Me!" attitude. I probably would have done it and not left anything but him knowing somebody nice and thoughtful got him out. Thing was probably stolen and that was the end of their joyride.
Let's hope he appreciates it as I would have.

On our local Jeep club just had a question posted on our site about whether you would pull people out with the liability involved. The general consensus was most of us would, but there's always that loser that is going to try to make a buck off of some ones generosity. Anywho I'm glad to hear that it had a decent out come.

I left my Jeep in the mountains overnight once because the radiator blew and I had to walk back to camp but it was still in one piece the next day but the trail we were on nobody would be there.

YJ hood latches are a whole $7 bucks. I'd be glad my Jeep was retrieved and look forward to spending time making any needed repairs.
