pros/cons of 16in wheel
I am in need of some new tires and have come across the treadwright line. I believe this is the route I want to go. The issue is I currently have 33x12.50x15. They do not offer this size or anything near it. They do however offer a similar size with 16 in wheel.

I am noticing that the 16 in wheel with 8 in width seem to have 4 in backspacing while my 15 in wheel with 8 in width has 3.75. Why is that? Will they stick out further? less?

Ok... yall sell me on this or sell me on something else.

the more off set you have on a rim the more pressure it puts on your bolts and bearings/joints those are some cons, the pros of a wider offset is looks way better lol and give you better handling and will give your jeep a better wider stance reducing body roll

4" bs will stick out less than 3.75" bs.

Issue with 16" wheels to watch out for is most tire offerings with that size are load range D or E. To get Cs you are better off sticking to 15s or going to 17s. And for a light vehicle like a wrangler Cs are much better.

I'm sticking with 17" to fit bigger rotors.

Recommendations for basic black steel wheels in 17"? Looking to to run a tire 11-12 in width. So what? 8 or 9 in wide wheel? Brands? Looking for cheaper options here please

Generally 15" rim tires are cheaper than 16" rim tires. I realize you already have found something you like but if price is part of your consideration...

Guess ill look around at 15" options.

Whenever you make a decision to get new tires, if your old ones are in decent shape keep them. You can get decent money for 15" used tires now, as it is really difficult to find used 15" tires of any size just about - - I've been looking all over (and found some that will work) for an old Samurai a family member has. Saw a set of Goodyear Wranglers in 30" (3 tires) going for $50 a piece. Might be a way for you to get some money back.
