Price paid for Wrangler Unlimited X "base" JEEP
Right now, how much should I expect to pay for a basic X Unlimited, auto, soft top--relative to invoice this late in the season? By late, I mean production year...
I have supplier pricing, and noted that invoices here in the Tri-State region charge something like $300 for advertising (at the bottom of the invoice). So invoice for a base X is like $1,000 below MSRP.
Thanks for any input.

Yeah, but that's after summer and after 08's were out. How close to invoice?

Edited. Do you have a view on current market pricing?

I got 1% below invoice because of who I work for. So right around 23300.

I was going to use that but I ended up a thousand or so less then even that for my 2dr. I finally get a cool company and Jeep takes away my fun of the discount, but I'm not complaining .
If I was you I would take nothing above invoice, and push pretty hard for the 1% preferred price. I'm sure with enough poking and prodding of the salesman you can get it down quite a bit.

So you got $1000 less than preferred supplier pricing? Please share the strategy!

Scourer online deals and rebates. Find the cheapest local price and take that to a few local dealerships and say 'I can get this from Dealer A what can you do for me?'. The Jeep I bought had an invoice of 19400. I got an 'ePrice' about 18700. so a little under the PP. I worked between 3 non-related dealerships to get them down to 18000 even. So after tax title and licensing I was back up to 18600 or so. So I walked away with nothing down and no trade for about 1000 under invoice.
My advice is to look for the ePrice, it takes very little time for the amount that it can end up being worth. When you're able to find one it is generally pretty good and it's a great negotiating point.

I haven't had a dealer start with pricing lower than invoice, so it's tough to get below the supplier discount I can get. Maybe its different with an Unlimited? They may be in more demand here. Or I just suck at negotiating...

This type of strategy only works when you have multiple competing dealerships who want your business. I only have one dealer in my area, the closest other one is 50 miles away and has very little in stock. I drove 500 miles to get my RG Unlimited.
