Power Steering Cooler
Is anyone running one of these? My friend had a power-steering related fire (in an '04 TJX) a few days ago and has me wondering if it's worth the $60. What are everyone's thoughts on this?

Yes I am running one. It is nothing more than a after market auto tranny cooler.
When I put it in I was running a auto locker in front. I ran with a group not long after I put it in that all had auto lockers in front. At the end of the day we all checked our steering boxes. Mine was alot cooler than all the others. With a selectable locker I would not think you would need it as much. Depending on how much you use your front locker.

I "burned up" a power steering unit when I had 15" wide Boggers on my 2.5 '89 Wrangler. I found an oil cooler of some sort in a junkyard and installed it in the return line. The rebuilt pump quit howling when ever it was used hard and shows no sign of problems now. It's definitely worth the effort and money.

It's worth iy if you run large tires and do a lot of wheeling where the pumps get a real workout.
