Opinions on New Tires

Hello All,
I've been internally debating this for some time. I will be upgrading to a newer jeep within the month and I'm about to sell a 1999 Jeep Wrangler TJ that is in need of new tires. My question is this, if you were looking to buy a Wrangler, would you want a Jeep that needed new tires and you could decide which tires you wanted, or would you want to buy a Jeep with new tires on it for 1000-1500 dollars more on the asking price?

Thank you in advance for your well informed responses.

Sell it with the old tires...you'll never get the $1,000-1,500 back in the selling price for your investment of the tires

I would sell with old tires unless it is a real pos and new tires are the only thing going for it.

If the tires are in really bad shape, you'd be better off trying to find some cheap decent used tires to sell it on. (Like Tonellin said, you'll NEVER get the money back on a set of new tires.)

Of course, if you can afford to buy the newer Jeep FIRST, you could put its tires on the old one to sell, and get NEW tires for the Jeep you're going to KEEP !

I agree with this, otherwise Jeep tires are cheap and plentiful on the internet, find a decent used set that you can pick up for cheap. You'll never get the cost of new tires out of the Jeep. Personally, if I was in the market for a Jeep, I'd want a good deal on one with worn out tires since we all have our own opinions on what kind of tires we want to run anyway.
