So I have two brand new dick cepek 33" bone crushers. I only bought two because I didn't have the $ at the time. Well now they discontinued them! Ugh. I've been trying to sell them but nobody wants just two. So do I keep 'em tucked away and buy 4 new ones or put them on with different brand? It's not ideal but don't wanna waste $ either.
You shouldn't run 2 different brands/types of tires, even if they're the same stated size...because they generally aren't, especially once they start to wear and one brand wears faster than the other.
Different rolling diameters+4wd=broken stuff...
If very diligent about taking it out of 4wd, it's not an issue. But even in a wheeling situation, there can be areas where there's traction that could lead to binding. Or winter driving on the streets when it's mostly slick and you want to be in 4wd, but there are still dry areas...
Only way that it does work is if you have open diffs and run the tire 'pairs' on the same side. Differential will always be operating like it's in a turn though.
don't do it with lockers or LS though.
I've looked everywhere. It makes me soooo mad cause my jeep has a skull theme and these tires are perfect. I've called so many places. I can probably get 4 tires but with a different rim. That defeats the purpose.
I'll assume you're running 15's so this won't help but should be taken as a sign that you may luck out and find a pair. I'd be calling everyone and asking if they have a pair before I bought 4 new something else's.
Wow look who came alive. Haha. I decided to use them. I have been running them along with two dick cepek extreme county. I have been wheeling pretty hard the entire time with zero issues. Now am I correct that DC is now Mickey Thompson?
DC, Mickey Thompson, Milestar and Cooper are owned by Goodyear.
