oem soft top, what's it worth?

Hey Guys, I hope you can help me a bit here. My neighbor is an elderly lady who's husband recently passed away. I'm trying to help her sort through some things and one of the things I've been tasked with selling is the soft top that came with her '06 Rubicon. It was on the vehicle when they went to pick it up from the dealership but they wanted a hardtop so it was removed and has been stored indoors ever since. I have the top, frame, tinted side rear windows, tinted back window, and door surrounds. Her TJ has solid doors so there are no inserts for half doors. Everything is in excellent condition. I'm going to list this locally on Craigslist but only have a rough idea of what it's worth, so what's a good asking price? Like I said, I'm just trying to help the woman and all the money is going to her so I don't want to short her any by selling too cheap. Thanks.

I bought a new, still in the box complete 06 top for $100. There is one on Craigslist in my area listed for $250. It has been listed for several months.

Where is it located? Pretty sure that makes a difference. I would love to find a brand new soft top in So.Cal for $100.

I jumped on one like that from a 2004 (my year) that had been stored since purchase. It was for $300. I would have paid $500 or maybe more for the condition it was in. I then sold my old one (that was in pretty good condition but not sailcloth) for $250 a few days later.

It all depends on where you're selling.

I bought an OEM top in similar condition with all hardware for $400 a year or so ago.

Sounds like you got a great deal. I was doing some googling and there are places that want $1500 for the whole setup.

You can go buy a brand new supertop for a heck of a lot less.

I wouldnt pay 1500 for a hardtop, much less a 7 year old soft top.

You can always lower the price, depending on how quickly you (she) wants it sold. List it $500-600 to start, then drop $100 every couple of weeks.

That's pretty much what I was thinking. There's no rush to sell it so I'll go Craigslist fishing and see if I get any bites. I really appreciate everyone's input.

Edit: One more question. What model years will this fit? '04-'06?

Since it's complete it should work with any TJ.

That's great! I wasn't sure if there were any subtle changes in the TJ production run that would limit the application to certain years.

If it's in perfect condition (including scratch-free windows!!) and you aren't in a hurry, I'd list high...$700. There's nothing like OEM Sailcloth for fit and looks, and summer is coming...

As you said, you can always drop the price.

Sold for $450. Probably could have held out for a better offer but I didn't want to make selling this my life's work. Thanks again for everyone's input.
