Every car, truck or Jeep I have owned over the 25 years I have and there have been many (50+)were simply described as red, white, green, blue, black or silver. There is no need to have other colors. I have never liked the fancy schmancy names they give the colors. Rock Lobster?Gecko? My "flame red" jeep is just red to me.
When I buy another jeep it will be one of the colors I mentioned above. If they tweak the color to make it fancy I will not buy it.

I'm pretty sure when I was looking at the jeep website a few days ago they now have a color called rugged brown showing in the "build your own" selection of colors. I would NEVER buy a dark brown Jeep but who knows it may be someone's favorite Jeep color.
I have the preeminent cool color: mango tango pearl. I was considering a 2013 deep cherry red, but only wanted hardtop non-sahara (I want black fender flairs). None were available within 500 miles of Atlanta. When I asked about ordering one, I was told that deep cherry & gecko were discontinued.
A real Jeepers response: "I don't know what they call the color, I just know the sound it makes when a rock scrapes it off."

If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen.

I'm still seeing gecko pearl and true blue on the Build part of the jeep.com website. Glitch?
No. The build your own on the website works really more as a search tool. When you build your own, it tries to locate the most similar jeeps available in nearby jeep dealers inventory. The process you have to go through to order your own from the factory is different.
