My Jeeps transformation

Just wanted share what I have been doing to my Jeep since I brought her home last year. Still a work in progress.

Here is my 2008 Jeep JK X 2 door that I bought used in May of 2012. Jeep had 75K miles. This picture was taken on my test drive.

I have always loved the Willys edition that came out in 94 so I decided to make a JK version. Ordered up some Vinyl graphics from ebay.

removed the ugly x sticker and replaced with a Willys one

Next I decided to paint my flares OD Green. I was going to either love it or hate it. If I hated it I would either trim them or replace them. I liked the way it looked and so I kept them as is.

Since my long term goal was to replace the ugly front stock bumper I decided to paint that OD green as well. I like it much better than stock. Next up I ordered a Teraflex 2.5 coil lift kit. Here is after the back was just finished.

Next up was to contact Mitch at Trek armor and order up a set of custom seat covers. Mitch sent me out some fabric samples. Decided on OD green exteriors with Multicam inserts. Multicam was a custom order and came at a slight premium but I thought it went better than ACU

Seat covers came about 6 weeks later and they were awesome except one little issue, well a few issues. I had ordered the US flags on the headrests in subdued thread and the flags came in red white and blue. Not only that but they were embroidered on the back of the headrests and the top of the flag stripes started as white instead of red. I contacted Mitch and he told me they would correct the issue right away. The red white and blue flags still looked cool despite being on the backs and having the stripes not 100% correct

Looks good. Why not paint the steps green as well (or maybe take them off)?

I have considered both of those options. The only reason why I havent done either is because my children are small and do use the step to climb into the Jeep. With the lack of the fold and tumble seat it is a PITA for them to get in without the step. I also use it occasionally and thought that it would get scratched up too much if I painted it. I hope to get a simple rubicon rail and paint that OD green

That thing looks good.

I'm thinking about getting the military star for my 13' Commando.
