If the engine is in good shape, low miles, I'd rebuild.

I bought it with 90k and in 4 yrs i put 40k on the engine before the piston blew. so the engine is just a little over 130k

That's not bad. I have 3 JEEPS, they have 326k 260k and 140k all run as new. So your motor has the potential for many more miles.

those mileage sounds great.. I've always heard Jeep engines can last for ever if you take care of it so when I bought it I was under the impression that this thing would last. As you can see I take care of it, but in the 4th yr of owning it is when the piston blew. My mechanic said something must have gotten into the piston.. I took his word for it because I dont know sh*t about engines but it sounds weird. I guess if that didnt happen then my engine would have still been running well till this day..

I would get a second opinion on cause of death. It may have been self inflicted. could have also been heavy metal poisoning. Did any of the chrome leak into the radiator?

I have attention defiiiii hey is that a rabbit?

JEEPS do hate chrome. It was probably wishing it could die. And it did.

Wow, I'm surprised this thread has gone this long without any flames crawling up the OP's ***. Let's all take a moment to clear the sweat from our foreheads, and be thankful the OP didn't post this on pirate.
