My friend is looking to get his first jeep....
He is looking at this one

That's a good price. The 97 models don't have cruise. I drive a lifted 97 TJ 2.5L 145K miles daily, no problems here.
But definitely, search for a 4.0L. One of the most reliable motors I know of. |

Yea, that's a decent price. But he's right. I would loook for a 4.0(6 cylinder).
It is reliable, more powerful. But if you're friend is that worried about the economy. the 2.5(4 cylinder) gets better gas mileage. haha

2.5L Only gets a few more mpg than the 4.0, not worth the power loss. Plus gas is under 2$ now.

I know you don't have cruise, so what do you normally stay at....Mach 20?
I would keep looking for a 4.0....However I do have a 4 banger, but it has its downsides...
