My bad Olympic 4x4 Products experience

I recently bought a Olympic Rock bumper with Tuff N EZ tire carrier. I bought it for 2 reasons, the price and the claim that all of their products are made in USA.

My experience left much to be desired.

I waited 5 weeks for the bumper\tire carrier to come. I understand sometimes things take a little while to be produced and shipped. I did not expect to get my items without the proper hardware or instructions to install them.

I contacted Olympic on 5/6 about the missing hardware and improper instructions. They seemed very helpful, and said they knew that they had not included some hardware and would overnight it to me. Um, why ship it without all the hardware?

I then contacted Olympic again twice on 5/10. First, to see if the hardware had been sent and then to see if they could email me better instructions. I then spoke to a guy who was supposed to be a product specialist, and explained to him that the bumper was not the same as the one in the instructions, it had been changed. He assured me the proper hardware was there to install the bumper. I tried to explain that the bumper was not the same as the one in the instructions, and he sounded as if he did not know that the bumper had been changed.

I then tried to install the bumper and carrier Saturday morning (5\11), figuring I could add the dampener when the hardware came. I tried to put the bumper on, but had no big bolts (they turned out to be 7/8th that a 1 1/8 socket fit on.) Also, there was no hardware to connect the bottom of the bumper to the frame rail. So, I had to make a trip to the hardware store and get the bolts, nuts, and washers to put the bumper on. It was only about 10 bucks for the hardware, but that is not the point.

Today, 5/14, my wife called Olympic to complain, and they hung up on her. They also just say hello when they answer the phone, not Olympic 4x4 or anything like that.

Not the best way to get repeat customers if you ask me. Since I am a member of just about every Jeep forum out there, as well as several local to Northeast Ohio, I will be posting my experience on all of these forums, warning folks not to do business with Olympic 4x4 Products.

Oh, by the way, it is now a week later and I still don't have that hardware.

And if Olympic messes up on a bunch of other orders, and continues to lie about it, the other news channels will take notice too!

Why, does a Democrat own Olympic 4x4? That's the only way Fox News would cover it, then they'd say it was all Obama's fault.

Just trying to give people fair warning. It is now nearly 2 weeks later, still no hardware. Don't believe they ever sent any.

No Obama blames anyone and everyone else. Not that I am a Fox fan BUT if not for them we might as well live in N Korea and just have one news that gives the supreme leaders view, but maybe that what you want?

Op this seems to be going on at alot of shops. Seems that about anything today is a hit or misss. I have been lucky I guess. Though about anything takes 5 weeks to fab today. No one can keep what is a small valume thing on a shelf waiting for the call. I been liking JCR alot and have nothing but praise for thier work. BUT its a 5 week wait before ts shipped and they state that up front. Don't like it shop else were.

Why didn't you but this through Quadratec? Quadratec would have resolved the issue immediately. I had a problem with a Super Seat I picked up from them. They replaced it twice. It kept ripping in the same area. They upgraded my seat to a Softop seat. No charge for the returns or the upgrade. Sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet!

I had the exact same issues with the bumper combo I got from them. I got the front and rear 57" rock bumpers and the Grill guard/'Basher' Bumper. However, I know that most of the stock hardware sucks anyways and decided to get my own grade 8 bolts for everything. So far so good, decent quality just had to paint to match for some bits.
