Thanks. I found the chrome grill overlay on JF for cheap, by putting the "wanted ad" in my sig.

Well I had some rubbing on the front flares when I went wheeling last. I know they are plastic and they bend quite well, but, I wasn't happy with it. I picked up a set of Rubi front flares from a fellow JF member, trimmed them and here's what I ended up with for some extra tire clearance on the outmost edge of the wheel well, and, I really like the look.

After:
I plan to Herculiner all 4 flares this spring so I'll post better pics then.

Hello Fellow-Milwaukee-Jeeper!
Nice LJ, I'll keep my eye out for it! If you see a red TJ driver Jeep-waving frantically at you... its me
Oh, and this should be your next Jeep "mod"

Awesome LJ, the Herculined rear and front bumpers are cool but not a fan of the grille, doing the fenders sounds like a good idea though.

Love the "hockey puck" seat lift. I have seen people talk about raising the seats. Is it just as simple as drilling some holes in some pucks and lifting the seat up? Or are there more adjustments that need to be done?
Your rig looks great!

Thats it. And buying longer bolts of corse.
When I was deciding if I wanted to go 1" or 2", I just took two phone books out to the Jeep. (One was about 1"thick, the other was about 2" thick) I threw them on the seat one at a time and sat on them.

What's the benefit of sitting up higher? Is it just a comfort thing or is there some secret to it haha.

I have heard that there is more comfort in it, im doing my seat lift over spring break, and also you can see better off-road, i.e. over the hood and better to see out your doors if they are on.
Sweet looking LJ man. I like all the herc on it

I'm 5'10" and can see the corners better this way and the sun visors actually block sun now.
Also the "03+ seats are 1" lower than the '02 and earlier seats to begin with.

Installed my CB today. I decided to go with a Cobra radio and Firestik antenna. I went with a 2' antenna so that it will fit in the garage and it works pretty well around town. I also have a 5' Firestik that I use when I'll be out on the trail or on a road trip.
I got the mounting bracket from JeepOutfitter.com. It worked great, easy to install without having to drill any holes. It comes with the plate to mount the mic on, also a no-drill install.
I mounted the 2' Firestik to the spare tire mount and ran the coax through the hole in the tail gate with the 3rd brake light wires. This did require opening the hole up to 3/4" with a unibit and putting a new grommet in. I then filled the opening around the wires with black rtv to seal it up from the elements.
Helpfull tips:
* After drilling the 1/2" hole for the antenna mount I inserted a 6" x 1/2" bolt into the hole with jam nuts above and below the steel. Then I pushed on the bolt sticking up to bend the area of the plate flat so that the antenna would not be at an angle.
* I ran the coax up the right side of the LJ under the body rail in the back, under the door in the front, and up through the dash to the CB. The 18' coax I got was a perfect length.
