modding a stock bumper

I want to change up my 2014 JK stock bumpers but not replace them. Can't afford it right now, but hate the look of them.
A friend mentioned something about cutting the ends off and putting on some sort of a cap.
Anyone have a idea?

might be do to that there is hardly any metal in the rear other than brackets to hang it off. the front is like a tank compared to the rear.

When I took mine off to replace 'em, I wondered what the front would look like with no plastic at all.
The plastic is held on by two bolts at either end, but I don't know if you can wrangle the cover off over the hooks while the steel is mounted to the Jeep.
Shouldn't take long either way.
