Might be looking at a '95 YJ good deal or not ?

I'm talking , well emailing back and forth to a guy that has a 1995 Wrangler and sofar all i know is it has 19,8+ miles its a automatic has air and is a soft top the jeep is suppose to be in excellent shape no rust it was bought in Pueto Vallarta about 10yrs ago then was shipped to Palm springs 2 yrs ago and sat in a garage then the guy moved up here to Vermont back in July and it's been sitting pretty much in a garage ever since now he is moving back to palm springs and doesn't want to ship it back all that i am told that is wrong with it is a zipper is broke . what do you guys think to good to pass up ? he's asking like $4,500 for it i don't know the motor size yet i just emailed him back in hopes that he can find that out along with what model it is . i do have a small question is the auto shift lever on these jeeps on the floor or up by the steering wheel ? so what do you guys think ? let me know !

Do you plan to lift it? If you do make sure it's a 4.0 the 2.5 has no power. Shifter is on the column. If it's super clean and a 4.0 it's worth the $4,500 How many total miles are on this jeep?

Not sure yet about lifting it if i do it won't be right away the guy said it had 32,000 but that was in kilometers when he emailed me back he told me he had made the mistake and that in miles it had 19,883 ! by what he has said it sounds like it's in exc. cond. inside and out.

For $4500 it better be a 4.0, otherwise he can keep it. The mileage is low, but to be honest, I would rather pay for a Jeep with higher miles that had a few mods that I wanted rather than a low mile stocker. I don't think there is anything special about $4500. You can probably find a Jeep at that price every day of the year. So make sure you like the way this one looks. And remember, it is not necessarily good that a vehicle sits around unused for several years. If you like it get it. On the upside a 95 is the best year for a YJ.

Up here in New England rigs rust out pretty fast and its hard to find a jeep after 6 years that don't have some kind of rust on them. most in the mid to late 90's have bad frames they all rust out by the rear spring shackles and in a few other places, the bodys after 10yrs have patches on them and floors that you can look down through . I have checked around a little and found that most with way over 100,000 miles are selling for a avg. of $2,500 to $5,000 all depends on rust and what mods they have done. To me i would rather do any lift or mods to the rig myself at least that way i know what has been done to it (seen a lot of bad lifts done) i do know what you meen about sitting around , not good its better for them to at least run them a couple thousand a year and it seems this jeep hasn't been. its not 100% what i want i would rather have a hard top come with it and buy a soft top since hard tops cost more i also like the looks( i know small details ) of the auto on the floor . i'm not sure at this time if i will lift it or just keep it stock there seems to be less and less places to go off roading where i live so most would really be just out back roading once in awhile my '96 cherokee doesn't get used enough as it is . but still thinking about it i'm trying to get the guy to email me some pics before i take the trip to look at it . I keep telling my mom who lives in FL to start sending up jeeps she could make a few bucks selling them up here ! Thanks for the input
