For those who say, "let jeep die". for all practicle purposes, jeep did die after 2006. There's nothing that was jeep is left. Not trying to upset the jk owners, but the jk is a total Chrysler design. The original jeep was to be a tough little no nonsense off road vehicle at an affordable price. The jk is so far removed from that. The tj was the last jeep that came close to what jeep had always stood for. It was small, with a sparse interior, low torque engine, a rugged no frills off road vehicle. Sure the jeep name carries on, but to what cost to it's roots. Ford purchased willys overland of brazil back in the day and they produce jeeps. The last new one I saw was about 2 years ago and it still looked like a yj. I wish Chrysler would of stuck more to the jeep roots as ford did in Brazil. As far as GM, I always felt that they sucked, that's why I wouldn't put a GM motor in a jeep. The engines I use has to be AMC, or ford in my jeeps, but that's just me.
