Looking to Buy a Friends 2005 TJ 4.0 X

So I am looking at buying a TJ Wrangler X from a friend....

...Then I read some of the TJ forums...

I can just imagine most of them wear their hats crooked & their parents bought their cars.

The YJ crowd is 1,000,000,000,000 times cooler. Just sayin'...

Anyways, in YJ news, the 2.5 is on the floor and I'm welding up motor mounts this weekend. 4.0 is ready to go. Super easy swap so far.

I've spent too much money on tools, and too much time learning to use them to just let them sit in the garage...

You obviously haven't seen the JK crowd if you think TJ guys are bad.

1997 TJ - Current project: Simple-ish build

Haha, It was a round-about, vague way of saying I appreciate the YJ tech section for all the knowledgeable and helpful posts.
Sure, someone asks the same lift question every day, but here we educate them on making the best choice.

Every era jeep forum JK, CJ, YJ, XJ, tj, waggy, ect. has ist share of people that are helpful, critics, know it alls, know's to littles, posers, purists, dreamers, and A$@whos. The YJ, XJ, and CJ crowd are usually the better bunch mainly because most in those groups tend to be built not bought and have a little more respect for the fellow jeeper or jeep builder. If you go to the jk forum you will find the questions to be technical of a different nature (uconnect, connectivity, mygig programming, and warranty) . TJs are getting older and the group is changing since you can pick up 97s for cheaper than ever.

No troll, definitely a buzzed post though
In the end we decided we don't need another vehicle and aren't ready to give up one of the existing.
Seriously, looking over the TJ forums was a huge turnoff...Sort of like the subaru forums. A bunch of wanna be punk as...butts...that aren't willing to listen to reason or learn. I'm sure there is a subset of great people, but the overall atmosphere there was a joke (why, yes, like this thread...I admit)

I like the YJ crowd. When the proper solution is to cut, trim, grind, weld, or throw the 'extra' parts away - we're Ok with that. None of this, "what page in the catalog was that from?"

You have a YJ, why do you even care..? Don't go there if you don't like it. No need to make a thread crying about it.

I don't even own a jeep anymore

Not to mention you are making the YJ crowd look exactly like what you are accusing the TJ crowd of looking. Hypocrite? Sounds like it to me.
