Lara Croft? Tomb Raider? Zombie?... What's the category called?

Hey guys, I wandered over from the CJ side of the house with an odd question. I'm wondering if there's a name for these - these Wranglers just covered with goofy bolt-on crap. They look like how a Jeep would dress if it were going to Comic-Con. I see them all around Atlanta - always with tire shine dripping, always clean. My CJ and Land Cruiser buddies and I have joked that you guys have GOT have a nickname for them.

Well Jeep has been foisting this on for years/decades. Medal of Honor, Dragon, Yeti the list is long and the stickers a plenty and it goes back into the Cjs too. Its a UP sale that includes no mechanical's in most cases. The cost ends up being what a Rubicon would be with out all the extras.

Most these jeeps are nothing but street things. Want to look "Bad A++" . But i have to say there are a lot of jobs keeping people at work supplying this market of stuff. Its a good thing, i think? Just the lighting industry alone is huge. Been in groups at night crawling. The only guy that needs all that is the leader, maybe. If the guy behind you turns that sh** on we have a problem. Rocks lights do more WAY more to helping the guys see the trail than being blinded by the fool behind you with a Zillion candle power blinding you like a super nova 15' at your 6.

Mall Crawler. Start with a perfectly good JK and open up a catalog until you get something a 7 year old fantasizes about.

Since GM stopped making the hummer all those people moved to the next best thing, the JKU. They also are large supporters of the Import China Auto Parts Federation.

Bro Jeep since they serve the same function as bro trucks.

But the Tomb Raider edition TJ was not bad (as far as looks go, no idea what the MSRP was)? Sure it had some diamond plate, pocket flairs, shinny wheels, and a light bar but it was a promotion for a movie.

Even the Modern Warfare 3 Jeep was an okay looking package, although I am not a fan of the black wheels or the Call of Duty sticker. The Dragon edition is the the only one that I question what was going on and that is only because of the 2000's era ricer graphics and dragon on the seats, but the black on gold is not a bad look.

Yeah, the first one actually had some real/hardcore parts underneath. I'm thinking more of the ones that 222Doc is describing - the DIY Jeep with all the bolt-ons or the dealer upsell... Less about turning wrenching and more about turing pages... the catalog crawler (ooh, maybe that can be the nickname). But "Bro Jeep" seems to hit it.

At least the Tomb Raider edition was a Rubicon. I've never seen one in person but I wouldn't mind owning one....

I think we have a winner! Love both of them, and will probably sting more than mall crawler!

Ahh yes........the "accessorized" JK..........don't they also come with a 6 month gym membership and stick on barbed wire tatoo? Surely they'll throw in some blinged out jeans.......

Instead of "Bedazzled" I think they should refer to them as "Jeepdazzled"
