Kicker DS65 speaker upgrade in stock JK

Does anyone have any feedback for how decent the kicker DS-65 speakers are when upgrading a base sound system in a JK? and do they need an amp? Also considering the Massive DX-65 speakers.... thoughts?

Yes I know its a jeep and I didn't buy it for the sound system... but I want something that sounds a little better than the base system/speakers....

Thanks for any responses....
