JK wave? WT?

I have driven from Fort Worth to Ouray in the last two days, seen well over 30 Wranglers and have gotten 3 return waves. That is unacceptable. Is it just because I have a JK? Maybe cause I have TX plates and I am from out of state? I don't get it.

I got more waves around town than on the road in the Jeep state...

I'm a TJ owner and I wave to every JK I see. I live in a suburb of Chicago and whenever I travel on the highway to get down to the city I usually try to wave but don't get that many waves back at highway speeds. But no matter where I am, or where I'm going I wave to every CJ or Wrangler I see. Just keep wavin'

I have been a waver since I got my first CJ in 79. I didnt know anything about the wave when I bought it but I caught on qwik, seems like everyone waved back then. But when the yj's started hitting the road the waves began to decrease. some cj owners didn't accept the yj and a lot of the folks that bought YJs with thier silly models like Islander were not cut from the same cloth as CJ owners. It seems like they wern't Jeepers, just a guy and a lot of girls with a jeep. when the TJ's came out it got even worse. The Jeep had become to comfy and the people who bought them had less and less in common besides their Jeeps. And now we have the JK with it's PW, 4doors blah blah blah. Most JEEPERS see the good points of the JK and accpt it as the new gen. But sadly, The majority of JK owners just don't get the jeep thing. Whe they bought thier JK it was a decision between a JK or a Santa Fe or rodeo and as far as thier concerned there isnt mush difference. It's just a plain damn shame. When a 62 vette passes a 08 there is almost always a wave, same for Harleys. Whats wrong with some jeep owners? But I wave on, MB to JK. My wife mocks me. Laughs all the time at my faithful recognition of fellow jeepers and thier jeeps. A few weeks ago we met in a pizzaria. It was a beatiful night and she asked if she could take my topless doorless jeep when we left. I was a couple cars in front of her and there was a TJ approaching. I glanced into the sideview mirror just in time to see her her open hand reach out the door an recognize the passing TJ. So keep waving, you never know when you might convert someone.

I just got my THIRD TOTAL JK wave return ever yesterday. God, I am actually keeping track?? Oh well. I actually told my passenger when I saw it coming "Watch this, the new ones never wave back." I waved and ....he waved back. lol.

I think its just alot of the JK folks dont wave back so alot of people have given up. Like has been beat to death, the non wavers come in all forms and all types of Jeeps. Just keep waving. We're out there.

Oh and ...

Most jeep owner wave back up here (Montreal/Canada). My experience has been that those that don't

A) Don't know about the wave thing
B) Just don't see me.

Once in a while, I just KNOW the guy saw me wave, we even linked eyes a few times and they just would not wave back but those losers are the minority.

In my own little experience I get very few waves from TJs and unfortunately they are the vast majority that I see. I have most of the CJ and YJ wave, about half the JK and almost no TJs. That's just my experience.

As a side note I passed a Willys MB the other day, it was awesome. It had 'It's *****ing done' airbrushed quite small on the back-right corner, which I thought was hilarious at the time.

thanks for the replys. Most of the non returned waves came at low speeds on a trail, in town or on hwy 550. Maybe I am over reacting, but I have been wheeling for 14 years and also worked in several 4x4 shops. I know the comraderie that exists and always try to share it, helping people on the trail, etc.

Thanks for the returned waves!!

I drive a JK and a YJ and often wonder if the Jk isnt yet accepted the reason I dont get waves and theYj's square headlight keep me from getting waves. Who knows. I pass the same TJ's every morning on my commute and some just refuse to participate. I do however have a good memory and will some day repay the hospitality!

Don't feel bad. Same thing happened to me when I was Ouray in June. And on top of that when I was in Moab I got even fewer waves.

x2, 100% ZERO wave returns from JKs. And I'm waving to the Jeep, not the driver...
