I have a 2010 Jeep that has leaked since I bought it...when it rains a lot. Now considering the price of the vehicles, a puddle at my feet or vacuuming out rain water and pulling up carpet is not what I signed up for. 4 trips to dealership...they have replaced all seals, basically told me the softtops will leak...well surely did not tell me that when I bought it. So now the newest leak is watching a bead of water, crawl down the door to the floor on the front driver and passenger sides...not a puddle but still leaking. I can't accept this. I always wanted a jeep, love the roughness, put up with the quirks but the thought of mildewed carpet...isn't a winner here for me. Do ALL jeeps leak in the rain???? What can I do, still under the basic warranty...I want them to just keep the thing now! I was a HUGE Jeep lover until this happened...Any advice anyone?

To tell you the truth most jeeps with soft tops leak, its just something you have to deal with. And if theres puddles in the floor just take out the carpet and remove the drain plugs, then the problem is solved.

To back to the dealership and demand they trade the leaky softop for a hardtop.

Mine never leaked and if yours is leaking that bad then something is wrong. No its not normal to get in a jeep and have standing water in the floor whenever it rains....
it sounds like something is out of alignment at the door and windshield. Since it's on both sides look for the common denominator between the two... Not familiar with the 2010, but on my old CJ the windshield was not lined up right for a while and leaked like crazy. Adjusted the windshield and no more problems.

ive heard about this before, i cant say i have ever had a problem with either of my tj's though, and they are 10+ year old softops that have seen better days. They keep all the rain out.
But a new vehicle there is no excuse for leaking, keep complaining and work your way up the chain untill they offer you a replacement top, or some kind of remedy.

Thanks for your replies. I see it seems it to be somewhat common but not puddles. Also I saw where someone posted the top will drain in the Jeep when you open the door...after rain or during too....I noticed that somewhat but didn't pay too much attention...but that is true too. It is hard to figure out is it water from the openning door or sitting water...however I did watch the water beading down the door....so must still be leaking...so frustrating...becoming obsessed with wet floor I think...It is new and I will keep monitoring this, calling dealership, etc...I just didn't expect leaks.

My JK always leaked, my TJs never have.......not all JKs leak ( none should in theory) but they are certainly prone to it...it has to do with how the header seals and how they recessed the soft top in order to decrease wind noise...makes sense in design but makes it harder to make sure there is no water intrusion.....i tolerated my JK but thats just because I was used to Jeeps, however I dont blame people for wanting a water tight top and see why many get upset about it....especially when you compare how older Jeep top designs are less likely to leak at all.

Like others have said if something isn't lined up right it will cause a leak. How often do you put the top down? I know with mine if I take my time putting the top up I will not have any leaks but if I rush it I will sometimes have some drips

My jeep hasn't leaked for about 3 months now. It was easy to get fixed. All I did was have a nation wide drought......now no more leaks! A side effect is that I havent cut the grass in around 10 weeks.
Hell, I would be thrilled to see my jeep leaking at this point!
Good luck with yours, you have to stand your ground and make your point heard at dealerships. Nothing was happening with our new Honda when it had problems until managers got involved.

My JK has never leaked. When your picking out your jeep go on a rainy day. That's what I did on purpose. I have 49K on it now and it's still dry. You should leave the plugs out to be the safe side

I rarely take the top down...the leaks seem to be coming in from the doors...the little black plastic piece under the door will have a wet line...thats how I know water is coming inside even if the floor isn't flooded....It went for the 4th trip back to the service dept., this time they were very nice and gave me a loaner car to use, they kept it for 1.5 weeks and told me they'd make sure it wasn't leaking when I picked it up...well it rained literally the entire weekend and it leaked just a little on both sides in the front, down the doors...urghhhh...I guess all along I thought it was the top. I could live with that small amount....they have replaced pretty much all gaskets possible...keeping fingers crossed.
