jeep wrangler 2002

computer on my jeep wrangler gets hot and shuts engine off/ will restart after it cools off but won't run very long. scanner won't read any codes or anything on it. ??

How do you know its a computer problem ?

And when the engine shuts off, if you try to restart, what do you get ?

No dash or power of any kind ?
Power but no cranking or no starter turn-over ?
Cranks/turns over, but no starting ?
