I've only been a part of the Jeep family for about a month now. Right away at the dealership, they told me about the Jeep wave, and sure enough about 2 minutes into my ride home from the dealership, I learned first hand what the wave was all about. But one thing I've noticed is that for whatever reason, not all Jeep owners wave back. We are in a heat wave right now, so Im always doorless/windowless/sometimes topless... and I find SO many more jeeps are returning/initiating the wave now. Id go months without a single wave, and now Im at like 3 or 4 per day.
I was thinking about this yesterday as I drove home in my jeep with doors and top off waving. It seems like more and more I rarely get waves back. I am beginning to think the wave is becoming part of jeep history and found it interesting that the dealership told you about it. My experience has been the following, and I apologize if you drive one of these jeeps and wave, CJ / YJ 90% wave back, TJ's 70%, and JK's I got my first one yesterday. The wave is one of the reason I bought my Jeep. I miss it.
Lots of Jeep Waves in Northwest Florida. Only ones that don't are some (not all) of the JK's and the Jeeps people buy just for transportation (not real Jeep mindset). I let the JK's initiate the wave, but a lot of the JK's with after mods wave at my TJ.
